Coastal Contacts Inc. has completed a third-party
analysis of certain procedures regarding the processing of contact lens sales
orders to customers resident in the United States. The company hired Deloitte
& Touche LLP to conduct specified procedures on 630 randomly selected sales
orders. Their report is available on the Coastal website at http://www.coastalcontacts.com/press/APFinal.pdf.
The procedures were designed by the Company to assist it in evaluating internal
controls in the sales order and shipping systems relative to the verification
rules required by the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act in the United States.
Of the 630 sampled orders, approximately 99% complied with the procedures provided
by the Company. Coastal is pleased with the results of the specified procedures
review.
